Coffee Love

Let me tell you how my love of coffee started.

This page is gonna be exactly what it says! Coffee Love.

My earliest memory of having a coffee-flavored beverage was coffee milk made with Coffee Time syrup. I’m pretty certain all five Foley kids drank whole milk over ice, flavored with Coffee Time syrup. Of course, there is no love like your first– which for me would be Dunkin’ Donuts. It was such a big part of my childhood. Indeed, the Dunkin’ Donuts across the street from St. Stephens was a must stop after Mass. In those days though it was for the donuts, not for the coffee.

As my family of origin moved off into different directions, I eventually landed in DC with my Dad at the ripe age of 9. My late father, William T. Foley, Jr (yes.. he was a WTF) made and poured himself a cup of coffee every single morning, coffee with cream and two sugars. This is also known in New England as a ‘Regular’ coffee. If you prefer your coffee any other way, you need to be specific. Not only did Dad pour a mug of coffee for himself, he made one for me as well. I mean, he was doing the best he could as a single father. It wasn’t until I turned about 17 that it suddenly dawned on me as to why my school teachers were frustrated with me and called me hyperactive! I was drinking coffee like an adult long before parents decided it was okay to bring their kids to Starbucks!

And my love of coffee and coffee-flavored foods has never diminished. Therefore, this page will be dedicated to learning about the coffee shops you love, the kind of coffee you like and photos of coffee mugs galore! As I mentioned when launching this website, there are two things that get me through the day, coffee and courage!

With a nod to Sonya

One of my long-time administrative colleagues took a moment to remind all of us in our conference session (IAAP-CAPStone) to take time and evaluate if we are living our purpose. Are we going through the motions at work allowing the sing-song days to come and go with little or no energy? She also reminded me…

The Connection

Here are a few things I’ve come to recognize within my own health matters. These matter in my opinion because mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health are all interconnected. The state of one impacts all. So my health efforts become a kind of a duck-duck- goose kind of game. I take care of one aspect,…
